Description
This is one rich piece with the display side completely covered with cream white, partly twinned, transparent to translucent Harmotome crystals with a vitreous luster. It is from the type locality, the Samson Mine, located near Sankt Andreasberg in Lower Saxony. The mine counted among the most significant mining monuments in Europe and was proofing ground for advanced (for the time) mining techniques. Silver ore was mined from 1521 until 1910, when the ore body was depleted.
