Description
A very nice specimen of the Lead-Antimony sulfosalt Zinkenite, which in most cases occurs just as fine, thin hair-like crystals. However, this specimen is a very rich one for the species. Dense bundles of striated crystals with a great luster and iridescence. Only very few of the crystals are terminated—probably due to both ends touching the pocket walls, a very typical feature of the species. From the San Jose Mine, a large tin-silver mine which closed in 1992, but reopened on a small scale since 2002 principally for specimen production.
