Description
This is a superb, old-time specimen of rich, bright yellow Greenockite crystals coating blades of saddle-shaped Dolomite crystals from the historic Monte Cristo Zinc mine hosted in a Dolomite, in the Rush Historic District, a zinc mining region of the Ozark Mountains in northern Arkansas. The Monte Christo was operated sporadically in the late 1800s and early 1900s and closed for good in 1962. The specimen is far from perfect, however, it is colorful and pretty rare, and you can consider yourself lucky if you find a comparable specimen on the market.
