Description
This is a super specimen with Fizelyite, an extremely rare Silver-Lead-Antimony sulfosalt from the type locality, the Herja Mine, in the Baia Mare Lead-Zinc mining district, Maramureș County in Romania, Several clusteres of acicular, slightly tabular, steel-grey Fizelyite crystals with a metallic luster on typical matrix. The Fizelyite aggregates are partially covered with fine needles of furry Lead-Antimony sulfosalt Plumosite. Black Sphalerite crystals with a vitreous luster complete this exceptional specimen. The piece comes from the great finds of the 1970s, about 30 years before the mine closed.
