Description
The Xianghuapu Mine in China’s Hunan Province is a beryllium mine, well known for it’s good Fluorite specimens. It produced much of the green fluorite seen on the market in recent years. However, this is a Calcite specimen with a flat piece of matrix, covered on both sides with small Calcite crystals. Excellent, twinned large Calcite crystals to 6.3 cm tall are perched on this matrix. One on the front, one on the back. These big boys are sharp, gemmy, translucent and with a nice resinous luster. A specimen with incredible aesthetics, and on top, only minimal dings.
