Two more or less parallel Amethyst crystals completely covered with a second generation of sparking smaller amethyst crystals. This typical two-generation Amethyst habit gave the moniker “Cactus Quartz” to Boekenhouthoek Amethyst specimens. No damage and fantastic aesthetics with this 360° specimen. Pieces like this one first appeared at the end of the 1990s, when two South Africans, Clive Queit and Uli Bahmann worked on the Boekenhouthoek deposit in a rather adventurous manner.
