Description
A combination specimen from the ore deposits in the Trepča area which were most likely worked since Roman times, however, it was not until the 14th century that mining was documented and intermittent activities lasted until 2000 when the operations were put on hold due to the Balkan war and its aftermath.
Metallic black, iron-rich Sphalerite crystals with a high luster and matte steel gray Galena cuboctahedrons, sharp and lustrous and faint-gray, translucent Calcite crystals wit a vitreous luster are perched on conchoidal Rhodochrosite. A very sparkling, aesthetic and heavy specimen which is much better in person.
