Description
Here is your opportunity to bid on what I think is the best specimen of this auction. An exceptional spray of acicular Malachite on a botryoidal limonitic Matrix from the Friedrich Mine in the Siegerland, where Siderite-Quartz veins with Copper-Nickel ore was mined. The deep green spary of Malachite is about 2 cm tall. Malachite specimens of this quality were rare and high-priced even during mining activities, and today they command pretty hefty prices. A real Siegerland classic; the Friedrich Mine was worked intermittently from 1802 until 1953. It is on private property and access (collecting) is prohibited.
