Description
The Le Beix Mine near the town of Clermont-Ferrand has become famous for its beautiful "electric-blue" fluorite crystals. This specimen might not have exactly the desired hue but its sky-blue color is mesmerizing. The Fluorite cubes are sharp and to 2.6 cm on edge and show parquet texture on the cube faces. They are lustrous, translucent with darker blue distinctive phantoms. A specimen with minor edge wear and exceptional aesthetics. This Fluorite deposit was mined from 1906 until 1977 by shafts and galleries and a total of 386,000 tons of ore had been recovered.
