Description
An example of the ultra rare mercury-silver chloride-sulfide from the type locality, the Mc Dermitt Mine in Nevada, USA, operated from 1975 to 1990. Inarticulate dirty-brown Corderite crystals next to brick-red, grainy crystalline Cinnabar.
Very rare! And for provenance, this specimen was formerly in the collection Erberto Tealdi (1934–96), editor of the Italian mineral magazine Rivista Mineralogica Italiana and a prominent member of the international mineral collecting community and in the collection of retired curator of the mineral collection of the Technical University in Munich, Germany, Dr. Günter Grundmann.
