Description
A Fluorite specimen from a classic Bristish locality. The Boltsburn Mine in a Galena and Fluorite deposit that has been mined probably since the 18th century and shut down in the early 1930s. The mine is best known for its incredible Fluorite specimens such as this one: A group of gemmy, gray cubes to 4 cm with sharp edges and vitreous luster. They fluoresce blue under ultraviolet light and show daylight fluorescence. The specimen with exceptionally large crystals shows only light edge ear. Despite the fact that the mine has been reopened by local miners as a specimen mine, only a very limited number of specimens have been recovered.
