Description
A doubly terminated Quartz (var. Smoky Quartz) from a quarry that is better known for Fluorite specimens. But this "Herkimer style" Quartz crystal from this locality does not need to hide: sharp edges, perfect terminations on both ends, striated prism faces, and INCLUSIONS, hydrocarbons and moving bubbles in fluids.
With its short prism faces, could it be a Cumberland habit? Anyways, this is a rare and very interesting piece with a lot of aesthetic value. And don´t heat the specimen in sunlight or the lights in your show case. The crystal will break!
