Description
Two doubly terminated Quartz crystals to 1 cm in a septarian nodule, a 10 cm tall spheroidal concretion of an impure argillaceous carbonate. The nodule shows the characteristic irregular radiating cracks that widen toward the center. The quartz crystals are transparent with a glassy luster, and one of the crystals shows a Cumberland habit. These doubly terminated Quartz crystals are also known as Mirabeau Diamonds, a synonym of "Herkimer-style" Quartz.
