Description
A fine and rich specimen covered with gemmy, dark cherry-red to reddish-dark brown Rhodochrosite scalenohedrons massive matrix from a rare and old locality, the Moanda Manganese Mine in Gabon. The Rhodos here are very sharp edged and highly lustrous and most of the tapered crystals are excellent terminated. Only minor bruising on this fine miniature sized specimen. This material came out in the 1970s and early 1980s and no more have been found.
