Description
This is a fine miniature sized specimen of the rare lead-silver-antimony-sulfosalt Fizelyite and it comes from the TYPE-LOCALITY, the well known Herja Mine of Chiuzbaia (Kisbánya) near Baia Mare, Maramureș, Romania. This kind of material came out in the early to mid-1900s (and some even earlier) and are often confused with Semseyite - although this is much rarer and has obvious differences to the eye, in person. This specimen is loaded with the stuff! It occurs as acicular crystals to 5 mm, coated with tiny fibrous Plumosite. They are showing a silky-metallic luster and they are associated with jet black Sphalerite. A very good specimen of this rare species.
