Description
Since the discovery, in 1865, of Epidote from Knappenwand, the locality has been ranked as producing the finest specimens on a worldwide basis. This aesthetic cluster shows why: The largest crystal measures 3,5 cm in length, and it and all the smaller crystals attached, some of which are doubly terminated, exhibit brilliant luster and very good gemminess. They are slightly accented with a greenish fibrous "Byssolite" needles, a form of Actinolite. Not perfect but anyway aesthetics.
