Description
This is a very fine specimen from the well known Jeffrey Mine of Asbestos, Québec, Canada. The singley Hessonite Garnets are well formed, sharp edged and highly lustrous. They are very gemmy and showing a fine light burnt orange colour. With magnification we see, that most of the specimen is covered with a second generation of pale coloured crystals. Only a rim at one side of the specimen is not crystallized. Hard to see on the pictures. A good piece with only minor imperfection at the major crystals and hard to come by in this size.
