Description
I vividly remember my first visit at this site almost 40 years ago, when I was a teenager, and I went there with my local mineral club. Our expectations were high to find a good piece of Andradite Garnet, but the result was rather sobering. And nobody had a specimen like this one in his haul. Here we have a distinctively deformed rhombic dodecahedral crystal associated with smaller "cousins" on matrix. They are sharp edged and lustrous as well. Although the major crystal is not perfect, this is an unusual good and rare piece, exceedingly seldom seen for sale.
