Description
This is a fine matrix piece of Quartz Gwindel from Piz Cavardiras of Grisons in Switzerland. Gwindels, or twisted Quartzes, are prototypically smoky. Anyhow, all Gwindels are rare as strahlers risking life and limb to collect them in alpine clefts to get them. This is a superb, complete-all-around, pristine specimen from the collection of Joachim Hennrich. Joachims´s collection specialized in "best-of" aesthetics and consequently he was very picky. The piece has a vertically rising Gwindel 5,0 x 4,4 cm and flanked by prismatic Smokies as well. It is slightly coated by very minor Chlorite what gives the specimen a hint more dramatics. A super specimen and it comes with a high quality lucite custom base for display.
