Description

Here we have a great MATRIX PIECE of desired alpine species Anhydrite, removed during the famous construction of Simplon Railway Tunnel of Brig in Switzerland. These are totally gemmy and transparent crystals scattered over the matrix. Anhydrite from this locale was discovered during construction from 1898 - 1921!!! And this is a classic and SUPERRARE matrix piece. The single crystals are razor sharp and mirror bright, without any remarkable imperfections. Superb for size, aesthetics, and importance, I regard this as a highly significant Alpine specimen of some rarity.
