Description
An excellent, old-time and uncommon Tsumeb specimen from the Peter Döring Collection. Lustrous, sharp and hexgonal, tan Mimetite crystals to 6 mm, richly and attractively cover the 3-dimensional, mounded matrix. The Mimetite crystals here are partly scattered with lustrous, whitish Smithsonite micro-clusters. This is an old specimen, from the 1960s or 1970s.
NOTE: Peter Döring was a former mine foreman of Tsumeb in the 1950s to 1970 and emigrated back to Germany in the ending of the 1970s.
