Description

This is a great specimen with excellent, oil-green pseudo-cubic Chabazite crystals measuring 1.2 cm on edge. They were recovered from the still active Maglovec Andesite quarry approximately 10 km east of the town of Prešov in Slovenia. The sharp, mostly translucent crystals have an excellent luster and as far as I can tell with the unaided eye, all of the crucial crystals are absolutely perfect. Although this quarry is still being mined, it has not provided any good, new material such as this excellent locality piece. This piece is from an older find and was previously housed in the collection of Dr. N. Pešl, Vienna, Austria.
