Description
This is a superb and absolutely gemmy cognac-coloured crystal of Topaz from Volodarsk-Volynskii in the Ukraine. It weighs ~ 810 gram is almost florless and has gem quality. I can´t say, that the terminations are natural or if there are cleavages,- but I´m pretty sure, that they are unpolished. Gem minerals from the large pegmatite bodies at Volodarsk-Volynskii in the Ukraine are highly coveted by collectors and this impressive Topaz crystal is a splendend example from these famous mines. I should perhaps also point out this locality name has now changed to Khoroshiv Raion, but collectors, and labelled specimens, still largely adopt the traditional name of Volodarsk-Volynskii or just Volodarsk. I think, the "new location names" anyway are often wrong and often confusing.
