Description
Here we have a fine specimen with numerous, brown and multifaced Andradite garnet crystals. Here we have two generations of larger sized crystals up to 1,4 cm, richly scattered with smaller ones what gives the specimen a sparkling look. The piece is accented with paper-thin, white Calcite atop the item. During the last decade, large, well-formed crystals of Andradite were produced from the skarns at Huanggang, a remote mine in Inner Mongolia that is now famous for multiple species. These olive-brown Andradite crystals have very good luster, a bit of iridescence, and an interesting pattern on the faces that is both attractive and oft-associated with these Garnets. The specimen comes with a high quality acrylic base.
