Description

This is an excellent Vesuvianite single crystal of 1.5 cm on matrix. It is olive brown with a gemmy translucency. The prism faces are nicely striated along the c-axis, the perfect terminations show a variety of pyramidal faces. This is a quite exceptional specimen from the alpine locality Bellecombe in the Piedmont Aosta Valley.
