Description
This is not your average Rhodochrosite! Pale pink botryoidal Rhodochrosite clusters up to 1.2 cm in diameter on Iron-bearing matrix. The spherical clusters have a silky smooth, crystalline surface. That piece is extremely rare and hard to come by even for the most dedicated collectors. It is dated from 1926, when the Iron mine Emilie was still operating. Mining ceased in 1976. The specimen is accompanied by a historic label from the Loorz collection.
