Description
What a story, what a tragedy - the Rufibach Gorge in Switzerland, the famous alpine locality that produced probably the most beautiful Smoky Quartz in the Alps. Even though the crystals on this superb specimen measure just over 2 cm, they still have this high level of transparency, vitreous luster and the perfect smoky brown color. All main crystals are perfect with exact terminations and beautiful prism faces. The piece has some saw marks on the bottom, which could, of course, be modified with a Dremel tool. A much better in person specimen because of all the sparkling crystal faces.
