Description
Two cognac-colored Hessonite crystals perched on a bed of Apatite crystals. The garnet crystals which are 1.2 cm tall, and unfortunately not perfect, show the habit of dodecahedrons with step-beveled edges, very common for the locality. However, the color, luster and translucency is excellent. The Apatite crystals that make up the matrix are slender, elongated, and pale egg yolk-yellow in color. A truly good specimen from the open-pit Chrysotile asbestos deposit of the Jeffery Mine in Val-des-Sources, formerly known as Asbestos.
