Description
I think it is fair to say that Swiss alpine Quartz crystals have set the standard for alpine Quartzspecimens. And if this alpine Quartz is a Gwindel or has the coveted smoky-brown hue, it gets extra points. Such as this specimen from Zinggenstock two 3,000 meters high peaks in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland. A Smoky Quartz Gwindel with a unique transparency and gemminess, a vitreous luster, great striations on some faces, and a faint but clearly visible twist. This piece might not be perfect but it is still very aesthetic and desirable.
