Description
Perovskite is an uncommon Titanium Oxide and this superb Italian specimen features crystals up to 0.6 cm in diameter. They are pseudo cubic (Perovskite is orthorhombic), brown in color and with an adamantine luster. They are associated with discrete, sharp, gray to brown Magnetite crystals on a slightly mounded matrix of chlorite schist. This very fine specimen is from a classic locality Rocca Sella, Rodingite dikes in Serpentinite northwest of the city of Torino.
