Description

I have drooled over Garnet from the mountains of the Austrian Zillertal before and I will do it again. And when you look at the specimens you will understand why. Very large Almandine crystals to 5 cm (!) are perched on a typical mica schist of the Tauern Window in the Austrian part of the Central Alps. The dark red brown crystals with just minimal imperfections have a great resinous luster. They are sharp and well crystallized and opaque to translucent. This is a specimen with top aesthetic appeal.
