Description
A specimen with two magenta colored Ruby (a Corundum variety). One of the crystals is barrel shaped with the typical taper towards the terminations. This one is doubly terminated, while the other one has one termination buried in matrix. Both crystals are nice and sharp with a great resinous luster. The specimen is from the Gairo District north of Morogoro, a city in the eastern part of Tanzania, almost 200 kilometers west of Dar es Salaam, a major city on the coast of the Indian Ocean.
