Description
This is a very excellent Cavnic specimen with only minimal imperfections, full of sparkle, contrast, and aesthetics. Relatively sharp, brass-colored Chalcopyrite crystals with their typical iridescence are perched on prismatic water clear Quartz. This duo is associated with lead gray, cubic Galena crystals with sometimes modified edges and corners. This is a very typical, classic specimen from the heyday of the Cavnic Mine in the 1960s. We all still remember when specimens such as this one were still fairly common, however, pieces of this quality have since disappeared almost entirely from the collectors’ market. Ex Christof Foltin collection.
