Description
This is an aesthetic, superb and old-time specimen of lustrous, transparent Tarbuttite crystals to 5 mm nicely perched on matrix from the famous Broken Hill Mine. No, not the Broken Hill Mine in Australia, but the type locality for Tarbuttite, the Broken Hill Mine in the Kabwe District of Zambia. Tarbuttite is a VERY RARE Zinc phosphate. The xrstals on this specimen are sharp, gemmy and partially doubly terminated. The sparkling crystals create a good contrast to the gossan matrix.
