The Huayllapon Mine is famous for its Needle Quartz specimens which create a “matrix” for other species: Such as this light green Fluorite cuboctahedron on transparent, sharp, and prismatic Quartz crystals with a vitreous luster and perfect (in most cases) terminations. The Fluorite shows lightly frosted crystal faces and is translucent. A typical specimen from the The Huayllapon Mine, which is by far the most important mine of the Pasto Bueno mining area in the north of Peru. It has produced a lot of excellent specimens
