Description
A cluster of tabular, twinned Pyrite crystals in their typical brassy color and metallic luster from the iron mines of Rio Marina on the Tuscan Island of Elba, which was worked since the Etruscan times ca. 600 B.C. The mines set the standards for great Hematite and Pyrite specimens for centuries, before the Peruvian mines started to provide excellent material as well. This specimen is a must for collectors of rare crystal forms. Ex Dr. Schönfelder collection.
