Description
A 1.3 cm measuring, burnt-orange colored Garnet crystal from the Piedmontese Ala Valley, which is characterised by the local tourist authority as "the steepest, narrowest and wildest." The garnet is a Grossular var. Hessonite perched on a bed of tiny, sparkling crystals of the same species. The Hessonite crystal is sharp, translucent, gemmy, and with a vitreous luster. The edges of the crystal show a pronounced step texture. This is a very good Piedmontese specimen with only very minor imperfections.
