Description
Although "merely" a thumbnail, we are dealing with a highly aesthetic Garnet specimen here. The Hessonite crystals, a Grossular variety, are extremely well crystallized, translucent, have an excellent luster and a wonderful reddish-brown color. They are typically associated with greenish, tabular Clinochlore. In terms of aesthetics, this piece can certainly compete with the levels of Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources "Valley of the Springs"), Canada or Eden Mills, Vermont, USA.
