Description
Not necessarily the Epidote specimen with the greatest aesthetics, but definitely an attractive piece from a classic locality in the Germany’s Harz Mountains. Olive-green, club-shaped crystal aggregates from the Gabbro Quarry 3 km south of Bad Harzburg. This quarry, which has been worked since 1838, is very interesting for petrologists due to its unusual (for Germany) ultramafic rocks, however, collecting has been almost completely prohibited since the early 2000s.
