Description
A very colorful Feldspar and Quartz specimen from a long ago abandoned quarry near Chemnitz, Saxony. A cluster of brick red, idiomorphic Orthoclase crystals with their characteristic stubby habit and a porcelain luster associated with prismatic faintly Smoky Quartz crystals with a vitreous luster. I have to admit that I have seen pink Orthoclase but never brick red! A classic and great locality piece.
