Description
The Yukon in Canada is known for its rare phosphate minerals. There is one caveat, however. No railway or roads gets you there and you cant hitch a ride on a boat either. You have to hire a helicopter, and you have to pack food, supplies and a rifle (to protect you from bears) if you want to go collecting in the Rapid Creek area. But you are rewarded with very good specimens such as this one. Colorless to white Goyazite crystals with six-sided habit and vitreous luster are associated with blue Lazulite in translucent crystals on typical for Rapid Creek, ironstone/sandstone matrix. That makes it worth the trip
