Description
A Galena cluster sculpturally arranged on black Sphalerite from a classic Eastern European locality. Sharp, excellent lead gray colored Galena cuboctahedrons, some more of the tabular type, with a strong metallic luster create a great aesthetic. The black Sphalerite is of the iron-rich variety, has a metallic luster, and displays a variety of isometric crystal forms.
An interesting fact on the side. The label of the specimen states the specimen is from the Septemvri Mine (September Mine in English), which is the name of the mine from 1989 until now and tells us that the specimen is post 1989. From the onset of exploration in 1953 to 1989 the name was Deveti Septemvri Mine (9th of September mine in English).
