Description
Seiser Alm is a limestone mountain range in Italy´s South Tyrol Province and geographically part of the Dolomites mountain range. Baryte is not a common mineral species from the Seiser Alm, which makes this specimen all the more interesting, because it is incredibly well crystallized. Tabular Baryte crystals are perfectly clustered candle-like on top of Quartz. The light gray Baryte crystals are tabular, translucent to transparent, perched on sharp and lustrous light honey-brown (stained by Limonite) Quartz crystals. This is a unique locality piece for its rarity, and you are probably not surprised that Baryte from this locality almost nevershows up on the collectors´ market.
