Description
There was a time when minerals from the Wagholi Quarries (there was a total of over 40 of them) were abundant. The quarries are located northeast of the sprawling city of Pune in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. With the spread of the city many of these quarries have been built over and disappeared, which makes this Pentagonite a little bit of a rarity. Who knows when and if the next ones come out. Three attractive clusters of attractive, blue, bladed Pentagonite crystals perched on a vesicular volcanic matrix which is typical for the Indian flood basalts. Get it while specimens like this one are still available.
