Description
I admit, compared with worldwide Quartz localities, this item is rather below average. But this is a GERMAN CLASSIC!!! A SUPERFINE piece composed of three major Quartz crystals to nearly 7 cm across with great luster, sharp edges and superb terminations. A KILLER PIECE considering the origin,- the Uffeln quarry near Ibbenbüren in North Rhine-Westphalia. This locale is an abandoned limestone quarry, disseminated by mineralized Quartz veins. The site has been converted into a geological monument, where mineral collecting is strictly prohibited. Consequently such kind of great specimens are still history and practically unavaliable on the mineral market. Ex Dr. Schönfelder collection.
