Description
Here we see a fine Hematite specimen from the ancient iron mines at Rio Marina, Elba. This locality dates back to the times of the Etruscans, and is one of the great classic European localities. The Hematites from Elba are some of the most unique and distinctive Hematites in the world. This specimen is a comprised of sharp, lustrous, layered, slightly iridescent, robust blades, forming a very attractive small cabinet on massive Hematite matrix. Despite minor bruising, a great representation of the species from this locality. Self collected from Dr. Schönfelder in 1973!!!
