Description
Here we have a fine thumbnail sized clsuter of intergrown, modified Galena cubes from German locale Lüderich Mine of Bensberg near Cologne. The crystals are sharp edged and well terminated with fine metallic sheen. At one side we see a distinct hopper growth as well. The Lüderich mine is an old zinc and lead mine and started operation in 1853. In 1978 the mine was abandoned and consequently specimens from there meanwhile became rare.
