Description
Here we have a fine Aurichalcite specimen from Camigliese of Tuscany in Italy. The so-called Campigliese (or also Monti di Campiglia), the hilly country surrounding the small town of Campiglia Marittima, is famous for Hedenbergite-Ilvaite skarn-hosted orebodies (Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag) and accompanying slag dumps, Sn-W-As ore deposits, the Botro ai Marmi monzogranite outcrop, and numerous karst cavities. And this is a fine and colourful piece, hosting numerous of sky-blue, tapering crystals with satin luster on matrix. Very aesthetic material and not from Mexico or Greece.
