Description
Numerous acicular and glassy dark green crystals of Malachite lining a vug of green hinted Calcite. This is highly aesthetic and colourful material from a find a decade or so ago. This fine item is showing some of the best chatoyancy we have seen in Malachite since old Bisbee material of the early 1900s. The piece is composed of literally hundreds of intergrown, curving clusters of needle-like Malachite crystals. They are primary growth, not replacements of previous Azurite as are so many African Malachite crystals.
