Description
Here we have a very old matrix specimen from well known and classic Sardinian locality Monteponi of Iglesias, richly covered with well formed and elongated Anglesite crystals. The backside is stabilized with glue. By modern standards I would say it is botch,- but this was the historic way to stabilize a more or less important piece and we clearly see the old-time glue. The Anglesite crystals itself are sharp and lustrous and almost transparent. The additional label is great and considering the scripture I would date the piece to the late 1900s. IMPORTANT for history.
